Holding Space in the Texture of the Forest
Inspired by solo time in the forest, I explore standing alone in accountable silence allowing it to penetrate my call to action. Through my muse of the Wandering Women I capture the pause and reflection of stillness in a snow covered forest. Acrylic paint, glazes and gestural brush strokes are used to interpret the dance of light through a bare forest and the texture of remaining open to sensations that arise. The color palette reflects the assimilation and examination of comfort, freedom, safety and fear as they arise and depart.
